What's included in your stay

A long-term stay with a family includes FULL BOARD (breakfast, lunch and dinner), laundry and room cleaning, and internet access (Wi-Fi).

Home-cooked meals

Enjoy new tastes

Traditional Andalusian cuisine is renowned for being wholesome and good for your health, and in Andalusia it also has an added bonus: it symbolises hospitality. It’s great fun to see the look of surprise on their faces when you serve them seafood or fish. Generally speaking, students will eat anything, and their host family will ask them what they like best and what they’re not so keen on.

How the stay works

A student's daily life

Immersion, study and home. Routine is the key to a successful adjustment.

Breakfast

7:30 am.

We start the day full of energy: toast, fruit, cereal, dairy products; for school, a snack: fruit, a sandwich, juice.

School day

8:30 am. - 3:00 pm

Lessons start at 8.30 am and finish at 3.00 pm.

Lunch

3:30 pm.

This is the main meal, always home-cooked and very varied.

Rest / nap

4:00 pm.

Time to do homework and revise subjects.

Leisure / activities

6:00 pm.

Time to meet up with friends, play sport, go to dance classes, take a stroll along the beach…

Dinner and after-dinner chat

9:00 pm.

It’s the most relaxed time of the day, when the whole family gets together, and it’s the perfect time to practise Spanish by sharing stories from our lives.

* Timetables may vary depending on the family and their routines.

Testimonials

A second
family in Málaga

We encourage students to get involved in family life, and it often happens that they settle in so well… that they don’t want to go home. They return to their home country with a new outlook on life and a sense of acceptance, secure in the knowledge that they have a second family in Málaga to which they can always return.

Activities for students

Once settled in Málaga, each student decides how to spend their free time: some prefer to play sport, others to read a book on the beach, explore the city or enjoy churros at Casa Aranda. There’s no set itinerary or organised excursions, as we’re not a travel agency. I’m fully committed to you, but I need to get to know you and understand your interests, and then we’ll decide together. Here are a few ideas for the more sporty types… Beach volleyball, kayaking, the gym, basketball, football, padel…

We collect moments that won’t fit in a suitcase, but which stay with us forever.

We learn to listen to our bodies and breathe, through push-ups and asanas.

Getting involved in cooking is a chance to learn new words.

A city like Málaga can be your best classroom at the weekend.

Reading, studying, listening to music in the evening light… these are the students’ favourite moments.
